Para 18 - قَدْ اَفْلَحَ

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

24.27

یٰۤاَیُّهَا الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَا تَدْخُلُوْا بُیُوْتًا غَیْرَ بُیُوْتِكُمْ حَتّٰى تَسْتَاْنِسُوْا وَ تُسَلِّمُوْا عَلٰۤى اَهْلِهَاؕ-ذٰلِكُمْ خَیْرٌ لَّكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُوْنَ(27)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

English translation of Kanz-ul-Imaan

O believers! Do not enter the houses except your own, until you have obtained permission and have conveyed Salaam to its residents; this is better for you, that you may ponder.

Commentary

Whenever seeking permission to enter a person’s home, be mindful of not knocking on the door with excessive force as this is bad etiquette; knocking the doors of the scholars and righteous in this manner is particularly disrespectful. Therefore, one should adopt a moderate approach when knocking or calling out. Do not disturb your neighbours by creating a racket. The same should be considered when ringing a bell; do not place your hand on the bell and then leave it there. Try three times, and if there is no answer, then return.
